This male Canada Warbler was full of energy, skulking through the Rhododendron and singing its explosive jumbled song. Rainy days mean no field work, and they're perfect for photographing the scenic mountain streams of the Monongahela National Forest, WV! This is the middle waterfall of Falls of Hills Creek. I hope everyone is out adventuring on this beautiful Sunday! This photo is from my summer of field work in the mountains of West Virginia. I'm studying the Canada Warbler, a species that breeds in the thick understory of Rhododendron and other shrubs that you see here.
